Dahon has nurtured a first class research and development team for folding bicycles within the traditional bicycle industry. We strive to build fun, functional, and affordable portable bicycles. With these goals in mind our prolific R&D team files an average of 12 patents a year, just for folding bicycles alone. All designs are rigorously tested to ensure compliance with CPSC, JIS, DIN and other inter-national standards.

The R&D team comprising of 50 elite professional engineers in the bicycle industry is lead by Dr.David Hon, CEO of Dahon. Our R&D team works closely with various authorities & university professors in the bicycle field which allows the practical application of theory to Dahon’s design and production. Greater efficiencies are achieved by applying ISO & MBO benchmarks to measure R&D performance. YEAH! & NEWTON bicycles are licensed to use several basic Dahon patents and benefit from trickle-down technology pioneered by the Dahon group. They deliver functional performance for a minimal price.
